simple..
that is the character's present level..whenever you hilight a player character it will tell you their name... followed by their professions xx/xx.... and then the level of their character.
example.. John Doe W/E (7) |

On the party list, sometimes a random player (Henchman or not) Will have a number beside theit name.. ??? |

i always thought it was their number on your party list. least there seemed to be a coorelation.

It's a feature the developers put in long ago to assist in identifying players, before target calling was refined.
Example: Lets say players tried to get an advantage in confusing opponents with name recognition and made 2 of the following names: Tweedle Dee Tweelde Dee So to differentiate when party members have the same amount of characters in their names, a number is added in parenthesis. So it looks like this: Tweedle Dee(1) Tweelde Dee Doesnt matter if the names are similar though, as long as it's the same amount of characters |
